Putting Hills in Holland 2001
Moulds resemble hills; this was the starting point for a series which dis-locates manufactured and natural forms. The colour and placement are intentionally seductive, alluding to the excess and decay in Dutch genre painting. Despite the order and control of the de Stijl movement, there is something about Holland that makes one want to misbehave.
